Life is like an ocean. We can associate many words with oceans, and in particular the following: different currents, wind, surface, deep zone, density and temperature of the water, etc. I have also found out that mariners and seafarers had reported that the ocean often emits a visible glow which extends for miles. This glow is caused by the production and emission of light by living organisms. Go figure.
So we are all in that ocean. Some are swimming front crawl, backstroke, butterfly, breaststroke, sidestroke, and some are just floating on the surface. Others are sailing, diving, snorkelling, boat racing, canoeing, jet-skiing, rowing, surfing, or playing water polo. When the storm comes everybody experiences the mixed layers below the surface. Some end up in the deep zone and never return back to the surface.
This year I have only one New Year’s resolution. When the storm comes and the currents change, do your best to stay afloat because you just might see the magnificent glow of the calm waters.
