Challenge your CPE students by asking them the following questions:
- How do you deal with people who have got a belligerent attitude?
- Do you agree with judicial, school or home corporal punishment?
- Would you say that you have an insatiable appetite and if not, do you know a person who does?
- Is there anything in people’s current behaviour that could lead to pernicious effects?
- Do you know of anyone who has gained a pecuniary advantage by deception?
- Has anyone you know done something unacceptable, but in the light of extenuating circumstances was given a second chance and had their deed justified?
- Have you ever had a recurring dream?
- When would you say that something was a “close call“?
- ” The only saving grace of the present is that it’s too damned stupid to question the past very closely.” – H.P. Lovecraft Do you agree?
- Have you ever employed a shrinking violet, and managed to turn them into dynamic people ready to speak up for themselves?
Perhaps it would be a good idea to preteach the target vocabulary before asking the questions above.
